Baseball Mania

Look at all these handsome baseball guys!!

This morning at 8am the boys had their 2nd baseball game. The first was 15-2, we won; today was 17-1, we won again. Jeremiah and Micah really are enjoying themselves; Rob too!! They are so much fun to watch. I love listening to them; I can hear Jeremiah starting chants..."Micah, Micah, Micah" and cheering each one on - I love it!!

Hannah & Addy

Today has been such a fun and special day for Hannah! Her friend Addy came to spend the day. When I told Hannah that Addy was coming, she tilted her head and said in a sweet voice "Addy's my favorite girl". So Cute!! They had a fun morning playing and are now both "sacked out" in a bed taking a nap.

Home Study

Today was our first home study interview for the adoption. A lady from Spokane came down and interviewed us for 3 hours. It was long, but comfortable. I am exhausted...probably from the accumulation of the past couple of weeks.
Then yesterday as I was cleaning the kids bathroom, I jumped down off the counter onto a sharp bookend (left by Hannah) and punctured my foot. It hurt SO bad! Rachel came over (she got a call from the clinic) watched Hannah and finished cleaning the bathrooms, THANK-YOU!!, I was picked up by Adina and taken to the ER then decided to go to urgent care(less $$) and pleaded with them to glue it rather than stitch me up. I'm not so sure why I was being a woos, but knowing a tetanus shot was coming also, I just wanted the glue. The Dr. complied with my wished and I'm now on crutches for 5 days. OK, that's not as easy as I would have thought. When we got home, Adina made lunch and did my grocery shopping. Rachel AND Eric came back over and scrubbed my chairs - WOW!!! I have friends in high places (well, next door!) It may not take a community to raise a child, but apparentely it takes one to help me. All is well now and we can relax until we have our last interview next Saturday.

Good Morning!

This is the song I sing to the kids almost daily when they come downstairs each morning. This is Hannah's version...so sweet!

Nerd Alert!!

Hannah said she was getting ready for Addy's "party". "Oh!", I said. "Oh, I SO pretty!" Hannah exclaimed!

We're Just SO Proud!
Today is nerd day at school. Jeremiah got a kick out of getting dressed; of course. Some things just run in the family! I think Micah was embarrased, but wanted to do it. I told him Auntie Jerelyn would laugh so hard she would pee her pants. Especially seeing Jeremiah "act" like a nerd. He wins the prize for entertainment. Micah wins the prize for wanted to keep the family name...the Kennell name. The Wisdom family name lost it's pride of acting normal years ago:)

Medical Day

Announcing.....Dr. Jeremiah Kennell and Micah Kennell, MPT, OCS
Today was a fun day to dress as if you worked in the medical field or were a patient. We used name tags from the clinic and just made a few changes. They were so happy! Aren't they cute?

Crazy Day

This week the boys school is celebrating Nation Lutheran School Week. Today is Crazy Day and the boys had fun dressing"crazy". Micah went to school with a snap on tie, but it disappeared sometime during the day. It's fun that there is a change for their dress and gets the kids excited about getting up in the morning.
Adoption News:
We have sent in the home study documents. All the certified copies of every certificate known to man, pages of legal work - that had to be notorized, guardianship papers, medical physicals for each person in the family, financial papers, etc... and not to mention the 54 page personal profile that EACH one of us had to fill out about ourselves and all family relationships. It's all worth it. We now await the phone call to set up interviews. For some reason the agency has not recieved state background checks from 2 states that Rob & I have lived in. Hope that arrives soon. Who knows why the hang-up...?
Rob & I were able to go to Seattle over night alone last weekend. We spent 6+ hours on one of our classes we are required to take; that workbook took 14+hours total. We also have taken 5 classes on-line and have 1 more to go.
The dossier paperwork is done and ready to mail in minus our extra passport pictures that the Ethiopian government wants. We have to send in several picture of our family (together and seperate) and house. Not sure why they want passport pictures...I had misread that part and we will get them tomorrow and mail the dossier info. probably on Wednesday.
All in all, things are going great. I'm glad to be done with the paperwork and look forward to the interviews and then the awesome phone call of the referral; which could be several months down the road. We continue to pray that the Lord lead us to the children he has planned for us and that He keep then safe and healthy...in the palm of His hand. We can't wait!!
